SCOUT is a ladder-climbing game in which cards have two potential values, players may not rearrange their hand of cards, and players may pass their turn to take a card from the current high set of cards into their hand. More specifically, cards are dual-indexed, with different values on each half of the card, with the 45 cards having all possible combinations of the numbers 1-10. During set-up, whoever is shuffling the cards should randomize both the order of the cards in the deck and their orientation. Once each player has been dealt their entire hand of cards, they pick up that hand without rearranging any of the cards; if they wish, they can rotate their entire hand of cards in order to use the values on the other end of each card, but again they cannot rearrange the order of cards in their hand.

This game has low mapping strength! While it's still playable with the Everdeck, expect increased mental tracking, frequent references to a card guide, or game features missing entirely.

This game requires extra components to play:
Left Value: Use Uncolored Sequence Number
Only use right digit
0 : 0's are 10's
Right Value: Use Colored Sequence Number
Have the most points by shedding your cards by beating the Active Sets
Remove all cards with a 10 for 3 players, or just the "10 / 9" card for 4 players. Shuffle the deck in such a way that the orientation of the cards is randomized too! Deal all the cards out to players hands. Once cards are dealt, players may flip their hand (only once, at the start of the round). After this, you may not flip or rearrange your hand. NOTE: For the Everdeck, the value you read matters based on the card's orientation "Rightside up" - Use the left value "Upside down" - Use the right value
On your turn, you may Show, Scout, or Scout and Show. Show: Play a set of adjacent cards from your hand (or any one card). This cards must be consecutive numbers or matching numbers. The set of cards must be "stronger" than the Active Set. If you beat an Active Set, take the beaten set and place it face-down into a score pile. The set you showed is now the Active Set. Show Priority: - More cards are stronger than fewer cards. - Then matching cards are stronger than consecutive cards. - Then higher card are stronger than lower cards. Scout: Take one card from the Active Set, and place it in either orientation anywhere in your hand. The owner of the Active Set takes a coin. Scout and Show: Once per round, you may Scout then Show (against the Active Set, which is now weaker because you removed a card) in the same turn. Flip your Scout and Show marker to show that you can't Scout and Show again this round. Ending the Round: If a player runs out of cards after a Show, or if play passes around the table, and all other players could not (or did not) Show, the round ends. Scoring: Each player receives one point for each card in their score pile, and for each coin they received due to other players scouting their sets. All players other than the player who caused the round to end loses points equal to the # of cards in their hand. Scores can reach negative values! Next Round: Play one round per player, with the first player changing each round.
!
While the Everdeck is capable of covering every value in SCOUT, it can't easily map its unique aspect of card orientation. Using the sequence number on an "upside-down" card can be unwieldy when scanning your hand as the value will be upside-down and is located in the bottom corner of the card.
